Motherhood is an act of absolute surrender, a visceral connection between two bodies intertwined in a cycle of need and protection. In this sculpture, the mother appears both earthly and ethereal, her skin adorned with delicate blue flowers reminiscent of antique porcelain—a symbol of fragility and resilience.

Seated on a stool with an organic texture, her expression oscillates between serenity and exhaustion, reflecting the complex duality of motherhood: unconditional love and weariness, devotion and loss of self. The child, clinging to her chest, embodies absolute dependence, the urgency of a bond that transcends the physical.

At her feet, everyday objects of infancy—a bottle, a toy, an open bag—suggest the chaos and immediacy of maternal life, where a woman’s individuality is enveloped in the endless demands of care. Motherhood is an homage to real motherhood, without idealization, yet filled with beauty and emotional weight.
