CERAMIC SCULPTOR
THE WOMAN I WAS

Becoming a mother is often portrayed as something beautiful, complete, and almost magical.
And it is.
But there is another side that is rarely spoken about.
I’ve always wondered why no one tells us that, while we are welcoming a new life into the world, we are also saying goodbye to a part of ourselves.
Not because we love our children any less, but because motherhood changes us in ways we could never have imagined.
This sculpture was born from that quiet thought.
It speaks about the woman I was before, the dreams, the freedom, the innocence… and the woman I became afterwards.
There is no sadness in her gaze, only acceptance.
Because there is always a before and an after.
And perhaps the hardest part is realising that we never truly go back to who we once were.
Sometimes, loving someone else means quietly letting go of a part of yourself.
There is always the woman we were...and the woman we become.
